Janab Abdus Sadeque Bhuiyan is the Deputy Managing Director and Head of International Banking Wing of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited. He is responsible to look after the affairs of International Business of the Bank, Foreign Trade Operations & Processing, Treasury Management, and Correspondence/relationship to overseas Banks, Financial Institutions and Foreign Remittance. Apart from this he is one of the members of Management Committee, Central Compliance Unit, Central Task Force, Committee of Executives for Recruitment and Promotion, Foreign Exchange Risk Management Committee, Supervisory Review Process Team, Asset Liability Committee, Risk Management Co-ordination Committee etc.
Janab Bhuiyan commenced his career by joining Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited on 07 February 1984 as the first batch of Probationary Officer and held important positions in various capacities and worked as Branch Incumbent of Sirajgonj, Gulshan, New Market & Head Office Complex Branch. He was the Head of Human Resources Division and performed the duties of recruitment, training, placement/posting and overall development of the Human Resources including handling of disciplinary issues and staff welfare of the Bank. He was also the Head of Branches Control Division and every so often looked after the Common Services Division & Engineering Division of the Bank. He worked as the Deputy Chief Anti Money Laundering Compliance Officer (DCAMLCO) of the Bank.
Janab Abdus Sadeque Bhuiyan comes of a respectable Muslim family and born on 13 May 1959. He passed SSC Examination in 1975 from Saint Nicholas High School and HSC in 1977 from Dhaka College under Dhaka Education Board.
He obtained Bachelor of Social Science degree in 1981 and Master of Social Science in 1982 from Institute of Social Welfare and Research under University of Dhaka.
During his long Banking Career, he has undergone various training and participated in seminars, workshops & symposiums on Banking and Finance both at home and abroad. He visited numerous countries like- USA, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, UAE, Thailand and Nigeria.
