‘Islami Bank mCash’, Mobile Banking Service of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited was inaugurated on December 27, 2012, Thursday at a local hotel in the capital. Md. Abul Kashem, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank inaugurated the service as chief guest. Presided over by Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the Bank Dashgupta Asim Kumar, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Engr. Md. Eskander Ali Khan, Chairman, Executive Committee of Islami Bank were present as special guests. Mominul Islam Patwary, Prof. Nazrul Islam, Md. Abdus Salam, FCA, FCS, Humayun Bokhteyar, ACPA, FCS, Directors of the Bank were present in the function. Mohammad Abul Bashar, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank addressed the welcome speech and Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, CFO, Robi Axiata Limited addressed the complimentary speech. Top executives of the Bank and officers of Robi Axiata Limited were present in the program.
Md. Abul Kashem, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank in his speech as chief guest said that 24% people of our country have access to banking service but 60% people use mobile phone. Bangladesh Bank is working to cover 160 million people of the country under banking service and hence has taken initiatives to spread the mobile banking service. He congratulated Islami Bank for starting mobile banking service with its own software. He expected that Isalmi Bank will gain first position in mobile banking service very soon.
Engr. Md. Eskander Ali Khan, Chairman, Executive Committee of Islami Bank in his speech as special guest said, we want to include all people in banking service. Through mCash we can provide banking service easily who are not received banking service yet. He expected that Islami Bank will be able to spread its banking service immediately through mobile banking and its strong network.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the Bank said in his presidential speech, Isalmi Bank has been conducting all welfare activities for the people since its inception. Isalmi Bank is giving priority in need-based banking service. The target of Islami Bank is not maximization of profit rather the maximization of welfare. He said, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited is dealing 50% of global Islamic micro finance through its Rural Development Scheme commencing in 1995. He mentioned the day as historical and expected that mobile banking can comment all people with banking service.
