Kamrangir Char Branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited was inaugurated as its 282nd Branch at Kmrangir Char on Thursday, November 7, 2013. Engr. Mustafa Anwar, Vice Chairman of the Bank inaugurated the Branch as chief guest. Presided over by Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the Bank, the function was addressed by Mawlana Shah Ahmadullah Asraf, Principal, Jami’a Nuria Islamia Madrasah, Kamrangir Char and Hazi Md. Solaiman Matbor, President, Ashrafabad High School, Kamrangir Char. Md. Obaidul Haque, Executive Vice President and Head of Dhaka South Zone, Md. Saidur Rahman, Branch Manager, Hazi Md. Monir Hossain Dulal, Alhaj Jahirul Islam and Alhaj Tayeb Ali, local businessmen addressed the program.
Engr. Mustafa Anwar, in his speech as chief guest said, Islami Bank has been working relentlessly for the socio-ecomic development of the country. IBBL is a Bank of all people of the country irrespective of community, sect, religion, colour and class. He said, IBBL is working for financial emancipation of 8 lac families of 17 thousand villages through its Rural Development Scheme (RDS). This Bank is trying to elevate Bangladesh a middle income country by creating entrepreneurs through investment in business, small, medium and large industies, real estate, steel enginering and agriculture.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan in his presidential speech said, Islami Bank gives priority in basic needs and welfare of of mass people before making any investment. He said that the progress of Islami Bank is continuing for its features like poverty eradication and financial inclusion. Islami Bank invests the deposit to the area from where it is collected. He mentioned the Rural Development Scheme of IBBL as a model in poverty reduction. He called upon all to work together to build a caring society by engaging in a shariah based banking activities.
