Professor Dr. M. MasudRahman is an Independent Director, the Chairman of Risk Management Committee and the Member of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh.

Mr. Rahmanwas born in a Muslim family of Khulna in 1958. He completed B. Com (Hons.) and M. Com from the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka. He obtained Postgraduate Fellowship of the Department of Accounting & Finance, University of Manchester, UK, and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, India. He started his teaching career as a Lecturer in 1982, Department of Finance, University of Dhaka. He was a visiting Professor of North South University of Dhaka. At present he is a Professor (LPR), Department of Finance, University of Dhaka.

During his long professional life, Mr. Rahman has taken the course of foreign exchange and risk management at MBA level, and many other courses like Investment, Portfolio Management, Corporate Finance, Multinational Financial Management, Managerial Economics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, Government Economics, Business Statistics and Development Economics etc. at undergraduate level. His main areas of concentration are Foreign Exchange and Development Economics.

Mr. Rahman published various Research Monograph such as “Environmental Consideration in Institutional Finance of Bangladesh”, Bureau of Business Research, University of Dhaka, in 1995 and “Effects of Devaluation of Devaluation on the Balance of Trade of Bangladesh: 1972-1992”, Bureau of Business Research, University of Dhaka, in 1997. He also published different Articles like “Institutional Agricultural Credit of Bangladesh: A Trend Analysis.” DhakaUniversity Studies-Part C, 1983; Financial Management of Public Sector Enterprises: A Case of BCIC.” Dhaka University Studies-Part C, 1986; “Small Scale Entrepreneurship: A Case Study.” Dhaka University Studies-Part C, 1990; “Evaluation of WTO from the Perspective of Bangladesh” Dhaka University Studies-Part C, 2005; and “An Enquiry into CPI from the Macroeconomic Perspective” Journal of Finance & Banking, 2006.

Mr. Rahman held the positions of Director, MBA Program, Department of Finance, University of Dhaka, 2005-2007 and Chairman, Department of Finance, University of Dhaka, from January 14, 2013 to January 13, 2016.
