Islami Bank launches ‘Hajj Agent Kafela Card’

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has launched the ‘Hajj Agent Kafela Card’ to make the performance of Hajj easier and more convenient. Through this card, users will be able to withdraw Saudi Riyals from ATMs bearing the Mastercard logo in Saudi Arabia, make payments at all POS machines, and enjoy free access to the Balaka Lounge at the airport up to four times a year. Each Hajj pilgrim will be able to load foreign currency equivalent to USD 1,200 onto the card. The card will be issued and delivered instantly, and there will be no charge for it.

The card was launched on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at a hotel in the capital by Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as the chief guest at a view exchange meeting between Islami Bank and members of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB). The programme was presided over by Mohammad Zahir Hussain, Chairman of the bank, while Md. Altaf Hossain, Managing Director (Acting), delivered the welcome speech. Sohel Alim, Director, Mastercard Bangladesh, attended the programme as a special guest. Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, Additional Managing Director of the bank, delivered the vote of thanks. Senior executives and officials of HAAB and the bank were present on the occasion.
