Two Islami Bank officials promoted as DMD

Abu Sayed Md. Idris and Md. Gakir Hossain have been promoted to Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. Prior to the promotion, both served as Senior Executive Vice Presidents (SEVPs) of the bank.

Abu Sayed Md. Idris is currently serving as the Head of the SME Investment Wing at the bank’s head office. He joined Islami Bank in 1992 as a Probationary Officer. During his long career, he served as the head of various important departments, zones and branches of the bank, including the Retail Investment Management Wing, Rangpur and Mymensingh Zones, and Dhaka South Zone. He obtained his Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka. With more than three decades of banking experience, he worked in several key areas, including investment operations, SME banking, and branch and zone management.

Md. Gakir Hossain joined Islami Bank in 1996 as a Probationary Officer and is currently serving as the Head of the bank’s Local Office Corporate Branch. He served as the head of several important departments, branches and zones, including the bank’s Special Investment Division. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting from Islamic University, Kushtia. During his nearly three decades in banking, he has gained extensive experience in investment, branch management and various important administrative functions.
